The Russell Community Concert Band performed for the first time at the regional level of MusicFest in Ottawa in the level 300 category. Judges enjoyed the performance awarding the band both a silver standing an offer to move on to the national level of MusicFest

The Russell Community Concert Band performed a Christmas Concert at the Russell Meadows Retirement Community on December 1, 2011. The concert featured Christmas carols, Christmas favourites and a special Girl Guide style sing-along.

The Russell Community Concert Band performed with RAPA‘s production of Scrooge. The band played introductory and entre-act music as well as performing Silent Night with two actors. The production ran from Wednesday Nov 16 to November Nov 19.
