About The RCCB
Started in September 2009, the Russell Community Concert Band was the brainchild of a few local, musically-minded people who thought to bring like-minded individuals together through music.
Their aim was to draw out of hiding those “former” concert band musicians and their dusty instruments which may or may not have seen the light of day in many MANY years. The idea was to bring back the love of concert band music to those who still had a yearning to play and partner with students of the local high school music programs in order to create a musical learning and playing environment for the benefit of the local community.
The result is a diverse group of adults and students of all ages, ranging from absolute beginner to experienced performers who come together to practice, to perform and most importantly, to have fun.
The band, conducted by Gilles Lepage, currently meets every Thursday evening in the St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School (STACHS) music room from 19h00 to 21h00.
If you can play a band instrument, or wish to pick it up again after many years of not playing, you are welcome to join us! The Russell Community Concert Band is always open to new members. We have openings in all sections (woodwinds, brass and percussion).
